Bill to Boost Housing Market by Speeding Up Short Sales
In an effort to boost the housing market and benefit both sellers and buyers, the junior senator from Massachusetts joined colleagues from both political parties in introducing the Prompt Notification of Short Sales Act.
Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., along with Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, introduced the legislation to shorten the process of a short sale, which takes place when a homeowner sells a house for less than is owed to the bank, with the bank agreeing to take a loss.
