Massachusetts Expected to Join $26B Settlement with Major Banks
Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is expected to join a landmark $26 billion “global” settlement that regulators across the country plan to announce today with the banking industry over the foreclosure crisis. However, the Bay State will likely pursue some additional relief in court.
The U.S. government and states around the country plan to unveil the deal shortly, according to people familiar with the situation.
